blind copy (2011)
The curtain is installed in a bedroom or living room. The installation reflects on the perception of the “outside” and on the way in which it reaches the “inside”. By means of the embedded technical devices and speakers the curtain plays the sounds coming from the outside, which always show the soundscape recorded on the day before. The recordings always derive from the perspective of the curtain, meaning the borderline between the inside and outside of the room. While the sound is played the curtain is drawn and closed, it is dark inside and the recordings from the day before get mixed with the actual sounds from outside, – if they still manage to get through the thick cloth. The sounds of “now” and the echo of yesterday become layered.
