Turmzimmer (2004)
In three rooms of an apartment house, one above the other, all of the furniture was piled up and formed a big column that ran apparently through the three floors. The house was understood as a whole, an organisation that overcomes the single room.
The stacked furniture allows to draw conclusions from it to the inhabitants, but their personality is not put into the foreground, moreover, it is the atmosphere of “one is ready to leave”, of departure.
During the march from one floor to the next, the dramaturgy of the light also plays a role, because, whereas in the first floor many floodlights are squeezed into the windows whereby those become totally shut down, in the levels above the lights are not so bright anymore and less artificial, until, at the top floor, the column is illuminated by the integrated lamps.
